Amanda obtained her Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing from the University of Toledo in 2009 and subsequently attended Emory University’s Wound, Ostomy, and Continence Nursing Education Program on an employer scholarship. After graduating from Emory in 2012, Amanda obtained national certifications through the Wound Ostomy and Continence Certification Board. She has maintained wound and ostomy certifications since then. In 2016, she earned a Master’s Degree in Nursing from the University of Alabama at Birmingham after graduating from the Family Nurse Practitioner Program.
Amanda is an expert in the provision of wound, ostomy care and education. She aims to expand the knowledge base and confidence of healthcare personnel to safely and effectively manage wounds and common urinary and fecal diversions, as well as potential complications. Currently practicing in Dayton, Ohio, she hopes to improve the quality of life for patients beyond those she is able to care for herself. The provision of essential wound, ostomy care needs, including the skills of dressing and ostomy appliance management, are critical to providing the highest quality care, improving patient and staff satisfaction, as well as decreasing the risk for litigation.
